Installation for an art collector

2010 I made two pulpits for two different opportunities. The first was shown at the ViennaArtFair 2010 and at the group show Hochsitze (raised hide) and had an integrated monitor showing videos of some of the participants of the show. The second was ordered by an art collector who likes to invite friends and relatives and to take funny speeches for them.
I was mounting different woods: harsh balks, turned larch from a wooden balustrade, veneered chipboards from older cabinets etc., so they look quite trashy.
Pulpits are symbols of power, hierarchy and presumption. After the Protestant Reformation and the Age of Enlightenment they also can be taken as signs of knowledge, similar to the speaker`s desk at a university. But still there is only one who speeches and so many others just listening.
