2008 PIZZA

As everybody knows, pizza is the poor person’s meal in Italy, and it is on its way to becoming so almost worldwide. Almost anything can be put on the doughy base. There are similarities between flatware artworks and pizzas: they have a kind of a frame (often golden) and they have all kinds of different ‚toppings‘ (contents). This series of paintings, started in 2008, melts together these surprising overlaps between the art of pizza and the pizza of art.
