2001 NEUFUNDLAND
a series of photographies and postcards
in cooperation with Lotte Lyon
Neufundland shows different sights of cities and landscapes. If you look more closely you see that they are models. The jungle, for instance, is made of lettuce, cress, stockings, twigs and other materials. The city is made of small boxes, packaging materials, cables and trash. The sky and the ocean are made of simple plastic foil to create the effect of water or cloud formations.
Our interest was in creating artificial surroundings that visualise a particular atmosphere while remaining easily identifiable as a manipulation. We felt that it was important to use cheap materials we found in the garbage because it was not a project intended to show our craftsmanship as model-makers.
approx. 100 photographs of different motifs.
